Intrigued we recently went along to the first public meeting of #lovenavan at St Mary's Community Centre, Navan.

It quickly became clear with the room filling that enough interested people from all walks of life were also intrigued to see what this could be.

It soon transpired that it was kept purposely vague and ambiguous for good reason.

The organisers briefly introduced themselves to explain that Love Navan wasn't about a company, not about a business, did not involve politics or any particular individual.
The organisers briefly introduced themselves to explain that Love Navan wasn't about a company, not about a business, did not involve politics or any particular individual.
It's about those who care about Navan, about what Navan means to people, what's good, what's missing, what we need and perhaps how we could discover ways to create a stronger Navan Community.

"Love Navan is a volunteer led initiative to bring all parts of our community closer together to help build a better town for us all to live and work in."
Therefore there wasn't a planned agenda full of speakers etc. Instead, for the first meeting, a cafe style workshop quickly ensued with several tables for different topics gaining written suggestions, ideas, desires, aspirations, issues, solutions etc. It it was an opportunity to express aspirations with a like minded audience.

The exchange sheets and listening to discussions provided a useful insight into common themes. More will come from the group of volunteers. Items will be reviewed and something positive for the Navan Community will come from this. It has a strong potential for considerable enthusiastic support for a better Navan.

We're now very interested to be involved and perhaps play a part in this since it resonates well with why this monthly magazine came about.

The JT provides a glimpse into what's happening but at a very personal local level with its main aim being to engage people in local life and to get involved, to boost positive interactions and enhance Community Spirit.
