This time last Year !

We've had a brief flurry but nothing compared to last year but if we do get some snow then send us your photos and perhaps we'll have another competition.

Active Kids

Community Sports Hub Navan are back for 6 weeks at St Stephen's National School every Thursday evening with 2 classes for our younger children.

Outdoor Gym

Blackwater park is having an outdoor gym funded by an initiative from Meath County Council and Meath LSP.

Perhaps this is something which could be dotted around Navan South as a fitness trail?

River Safety

The River Boyne is almost a hidden local feature. Recently Meath River Rescue were called to assist an individual in the water and when we took this 360 photo several weeks ago the life ring was missing.

We urge anyone who passes over any bridge to check it's there and if needed contact Meath River Rescue for it to be found and replaced.

A missing ring could result in a lost life.

Sparkle & Colour

Ideas Wanted

Tidy Towns are looking for your ideas for this year's local improvement projects.

Competition entry forms aren't submitted until May but planning goes on throughout the year.

If you have an idea or suggestion send them in.

Walterstown Oscarz

Congratulations to everyone involved for all the hard work that goes into making a movie and Fundraising.

Winner results from the night can be viewed on their Facebook Page.

Super Award

Dennis Smith with the trophy.

Our local Smith's SuperValu in the Johnstown Shopping Centre has won the coveted 2019 award for Ireland's "SuperValu Store of the Year".

We think this is so well deserved.

It's just over a year since the store had its makeover to create a great shopping experience. Whilst other supermarkets are considering removing service counters in favour of plastic tray fridges we think the Butcher, Baker and Deli counters add so much character, personality and provide a great service.

We're also delighted at their recyclable fruit and veg bags, promotion of reusable coffee cups and all round reduction in waste.

Well done to all the staff.

Navan Parade

Who's going to the Navan St Patrick's Day parade this year?

Perhaps you're taking part?

Happy Mums

Mother's Day is at the month's end and we'd like to ask all the children to make Mum even Happier by shopping locally to keep her friends, family and neighbours in jobs.

Walking Group

A huge number of you are taking part in Taylor's walking group and will compete the 8 week operation Transformation program mid month. You're very welcome to join them 7pm weekdays outside Taylors Johnstown.

We're looking forward to hearing their results at the awards Saturday 30th at Taylors Johnstown.

Soccer Updates

Local football club fans will know to bookmark the NECSL page to discover the latest fixtures and results.

Some of the local junior clubs have sent us their training times if your children want to be involved. Quite a few are now in our Regular events listing

Silver Screen Event

Extra Tidy Navan

Navan Tidy Towns

Fantastic to have Navan represented by 2 Tidy Town groups forming within as many weeks. We think they're going to merge and double their potential.

Johnstown Tidy Towns falls within Navan but with all entries a boundary line needs to be identified to represent the community involved.

Honey Lover

Bee more friendly

We should shortly begin to see more Bees in our gardens and it's vital we mind them better.

Antisocial Owners

Toxic Waste

It's time we sorted out the increasing mess left behind by careless dog walkers who are putting our health at risk.

We're looking to support Tidy Towns and encourage everyone to clean up, take responsibility and stop the spread of disease.

Share the Love

Do You Love Navan

Intrigued we recently went along to the first public meeting of #lovenavan at St Mary's Community Centre, Navan.
