"ALONE is a national organisation that helps older people in need to age at home. We work with those who have difficulties with loneliness, ill health, poverty, poor housing or homelessness.

We support them through these challenges and link them in with the relevant services they need to live in the community. ALONE is independent and receives no government funding for the day to day running of our services.

We have 250 active volunteers that are trained and supported by professional staff. All our services are quality approved ensuring we are high value and low cost. 100% of all donations goes directly to providing services to older people in need. "

"The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is the leading charity in Alzheimer's / dementia care in Ireland. The Society provides people with ALzheimer's, their families and carers with information and support to help them live as normally as possible in their own homes for as long as possible. Voicing the individual and cumulative needs of individuals and families affected by this devastation condition is at the core of everything we do.


The Society's national network of services includes: 22 branches, 6 regional offices, 33 Day Care Centres, 28 Home Care Programmes, 28 Carer Support Groups, Social Clubs, an Advocacy Service and one overnight Respite Centre. The Society also operates the Alzheimer National Helpline Service offering information and support to anyone affected by Alzheimer's disease / dementia.


44,000 people in Ireland have Alzheimer's disease / dementia some as young as 30's or 40's. The disease has a ripple effect on the person, their loved one's and even on their neighbours. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland can offer hope, help and understanding to all affected but only with the support of individual and corporate donors. "

"Seniorline is a national confidential listening service for older people provided by trained older volunteers. Calls are now free when phoning our new Freephone number 1800 80 45 91

Our lines are open every day from 10am to 10pm, 365 days a year, including Christmas Day, St Stephen’s Day and New Year’s Day. Seniorline remains open when many statutory services are closed, and is recognised as a primary health care service helping to support older people in their community.

As well as responding to individual callers, Seniorline advocates nationally for older people in Ireland, representing their needs, concerns and wishes to media, the general public, politicians and key stakeholders."
