CricHit

CricHITT is a new training initiative for Girls & Women 16+ that incorporates all the skills of cricket combined with cardio and interval training to increase fitness levels!

This is a fun, interactive training session suitable for all ages and fitness levels and a great opportunity to learn the skills of cricket without the pressure of competing.

6-week programme, starts Wed 9th March at 7.30pm in Loreto Secondary School Sports Hall, Navan. Cost is €20 for 6 week programme.

Navan's Men Shed Reopens

Men's Sheds Navan announce the reopening of our service. Meetings take place in Claremont Stadium from 2pm - 4pm every Friday.

Stop by if you have a couple of hours to spare. All welcome.

Spring Flowers

In Autumn 2018 Johnstown Tidy Towns planted 100 crocus bulbs around tree bases on the Bailis Downs green. Thought lost to the wet soil and weather several have unexpectedly flowered this year.

Spring flowers like these, dandelions and clover offer much needed food to the emerging bees.

Free Couch and Armchair Drop Off Days

Note: Maximum of 3 couches per household. 2, 3 or 4 Seater and Armchairs only - No kitchen, dining or office chairs.

Items can be dropped off from 10am – 2pm daily. Gate fee of €2 is payable for each vehicle/visit. No commercial customers.

Dance for Life returns with a 6 week programme suitable for all adults 50+. It offers a variety of line dances, provides social interaction, and provides many health benefits.

Cut and Returned

Some of the excess turf cut from Metges Road last year by Johnstown Tidy Towns has returned after composting. The soil has been added to the Athlumney Hall verge where it will allow volunteer to refresh the fruit and herb planting and possibly extend it.

A posting on Navan South - Communities Unite social media page questions the need for street posters advertising homes for sale.

Johnstown has seen a significant increase in these plastic posters and given that the internet provides enough information to potential buyers is this street clutter needed?

Free Compost

Johnstown Tidy Towns delivered free compost donated by The Grow Shop to St Stephens NS, Colaiste Na Mi Secondary School, Ard Ri NS, and St Mary's Special School to support their growing projects.

Visual Reminders

Although we've not yet seen any we' d rather see these stencils on Johnstown's pavements than the alternative.

Meath County Council Community Wardens are putting stencils on popular walkways to remind dog owners to pick up after their dog.
