Last minute appeals for votes saw the attempt by one candidate to defy the Johnstown Plastic Election Poster Free Zone.
Social Media and public outcry replied accordingly and the signs didn't last long.

"An Andulusian Noel " is the entry by three TY Students from Colaiste Na Mi Secondary School with a design based on all of the waste that is created and accumulated around Christmas.

Scam phone calls from a computer generated voice which definitely wasn't from Amazon Alexa.

Amazon Prime scam enticing bank details from residents have been notified to the Garda this month.
We received one such call but online subscriptions are exactly that, they don't phone you, so don't give out details.
It Was So Quiet
The local rush hour was noticeably quiet for a few days whilst school's were impacted by Strike action.
Early childcare providers, educators, and parents are protesting before the General Election in a call for greater government investments in the sector.
Car Crime
2 Incidents involving cars in 2 days : the 1st collided with a tree in the Priory Estate and the 2nd car was abandoned on the basketball courts within the Johnstown People's Park.
Both cars were removed and Gardai are investigating.

The issue is the service operating times whereby any calls out of hours are dealt with the next day. This isn't humain over bank holiday weekends or during periods of extreme cold.
- Building Inspections for Landlords providing Council Rented property.
The question was posed about the Council's property visits to ensure Landlords are complying with terms of contract.
- Academy Street Apartment Development is another fast tracked planning application for over 500 homes via An Bord Pleanala.
The Councillors made observations, on behalf of concerned local residents, about existing properties being overlooked.
