Slimmer 2020

If you’d love to slim down and feel better about yourself this January, your local slimming group on Thursday evening is inviting you to join them, you really gain so much while losing pounds!

It’s over 50 years since the very first Slimming World group opened its doors and over 2 years since Alison started in Navan Rugby Club . In that short time there have been many wonderful people through the doors, committing to a healthier lifestyle in their everyday life.

In 2019 members of Alison's groups have a combined weight loss of

10,229.5 lbs

4,660 kgs


Alison is excited to continue supporting members throughout 2020 in achieving their weight loss goals.

One such member that took that first step in Alison's group was Sandra Walsh, a Johnstown resident.

"I remember her very first night. She was so nervous, sceptical that this would work but I could see how badly she wanted it, she trusted me and has gone from strength to strength each week."

Sandra' Story

“In early 2019 I realized that I needed to a make a change. I went from work to couch to bed and repeated everyday along with takeaways, quick snacks of chocolate , crisps and at night wine. I had spoken to a work colleague who had done fantastic in SW so after another few weeks thinking about it I made the move. "

"The first night I arrived I was so nervous and actually didn’t do great the first week just a small loss but I was determined to give it a go and the following week did much better which made me want it more. I followed the programme and more importantly stayed for class and when you are having a bit of a down week you leave with a fighting spirit for the coming week. A few months in I started walking a few times a week and started to notice a difference in my shape and felt so much healthier. I have made a lifestyle change with both food and exercise and never at any point felt I was in a diet. My class and Alison have got me through the whole experience along with my husband and family support. "

"To date I have lost 5stone 11lbs a number I never thought I could achieve."

"I am now a target member but I will be at class each week to support Alison and the gang in their journey and for myself to continue on my own journey. Thanks again to Alison and the gang for everything and the laughs and tears along the way"

"Sandra didn’t start walking immediately, it was a gradual build up and now she walks 5kms every day in all weathers. She has lost the weight through following the plan in just 40 weeks! She is feeling fit, confident and loves her new lease on life.

Sandra is such an important member in group, she's a valued member of our social team, welcoming in new members every week and is an absolute shining example of how this can change your life!
