What are you reading?

Blood Rose by Margie Orford.

In a nutshell?

Blood Rose is a crime thriller, a taut romance and a study of Walvis Bay, Namibia. When a homeless boy is murdered, the investigators discover the motive for the murder is not what we might think.

Why read it?

I have never met Margie Orford, but I have long felt a sense of connection to her because we both previously worked with South African NGOs.

When she started writing crime novels, I was impressed and inspired. Blood Rose did not disappoint. I enjoyed the characters, the story, the setting and the suspense.
