“It is a coming of age for me I might be in the business of being a sangoma for 21 years but I am 38 years old and even I have had to mentor other people, have spiritual children.
“I have been doing that all while finding myself. I might be spirit first but I'm also human and, in being human, I've gone through my own humanly difficulties and challenges.
“Of late, I've been feeling like I'm coming full circle. It feels like a coming of age, a sense of renewal and it feels good. It feels like Oprah Winfrey used to say, 'Life begins at 40', and I can understand it now why she used to say that.
'I can feel the sense of calmness, the alignment, the coming of age, the feeling more centred within myself and feeling more grounded. Its exciting.”
She says she has found ways that have kept her grounded when things get tough.
“Prayer centres me, ukuphahla. It doesn't matter what storms I'm facing, even those moments where you feel like you've prayed but the storm is still there and you feel it resetting you somehow.
“I also try and connect with earth a lot. I find a lot of healing in earth. Sometimes the world is just so chaotic for me all I need to do is take off my shoes find grass or the bare ground and just walk or stand and breath.”

Actress Letoya Makhene launched muti-infused candles and Dlozi blankets recently, a business venture she says was God-ordained.
Chatting to TshisaLIVE she reflected on the collaboration between her business, House of Kgwedi, and K1Rose, Sesli Blankets and Dlozi Ngwana Badimo.
“When spirits are aligned, I think God will always bring the right people into your space to be able to make certain things come alive. Candles is a business I did start a few years ago during the Covid-19 era when I was releasing candles but mine where impepho candles.

“This time around, as we were developing the candles, we also found that they were very time consuming. So recently, when K1 Rose came to me and said we are in the candle business and we are looking for someone to partner with, it was just one idea after the next that was suddenly buzzing.
“She came to me not only as someone that wanted to make money from candles but also as a spiritual child and we went from wanting to make candles and impepho to wanting to fuse it with different muti.”
The actress has been a traditional healer for more than two decades, a journey she says has come full circle despite challenges.
